Goodhood is an app that brings together private individuals and craftspeople in order to facilitate local trade. The idea is to use local talents to repair our goods instead of just throwing them away. By developing a state of mind based on the "non disposable", we can reduce the harmful impact of overconsumption and install positive feedback loops instead.
How can we locally fight obsolescence and expand the durability of our items? How can we raise awareness of tomorrow's issues among the community?
The circular economy within our reach.
The terrible impact of frantic overconsumption over the ecosystem cannot be denied anymore, it is here, we notice it everyday.
Therefore, it’s essential that we rethink our consumer behaviour to get out of the classic yet outdated pattern:
Calling on our local craftspeople to fix our belongings isn't something we do much. People often find it too complicated as they have to look for a professional who fits all their requirements: close location, decent price, good reviews... Goodhood offers to do it for you.
From the dashboard, users can easily upload a project. They get a list of relevant professionals and can then make a choice based on several criteria such as availability, price or reviews from the community.
The user can compare offers and pick a quote based on price, reviews, location and schedule.
The user can rely on the Goodhood community by going through the reviews.
Using Goodhood, people can make an actual move against obsolescence their own way, and expand the circular economy as they put the local expertise in the spotlight.
The app also provides a directory listing all professionals which can be filtered by categories; the user is able to reach a craftsperson via a chat and add them to their bookmarks.
To go deeper in the sustainable process, a special tab gives the user access to tutorial videos and guides sorted per topic.
Professional get access to a specific dashboard from which they can check all the projects uploaded on the Goodhood cloud. They choose a project and then send an estimate that includes the description and cost of the service.
If they want to use the app at its fullest, professionals can use special features that will ease their workflow: appointments management, schedule, mailbox, synch with other platforms…
